10:51 pm - what's happened...

It's been more than month now that i've been here at Wayne State. So far my experience has been good. There is always something going on around campus, and never a boring moment. The dorm life is great, besides the occasional yelling in the halls at 12am, base pumping that shakes the surrounding rooms, and floor meetings. My roommate is really cool and of course Italian.
My first semester classes are going well. I always seem to wait till the last minute to finish my homework, i guess it's just a habit carried on from high school(Some things never change).
So i find myself these days always busy, stressed, tired, and cranky. It's not fun and i can't seem to fix it either. I'm always either at school or working, no time to relax and just hang out with my friends.
I reminisce about the past and how good everything was, seeing your friends everyday in high school, hanging out on the weekends, no worries, no one holding you back, just straight up fun. This all changes once you have a job and also go to college. Always studying, spending money on books, food, essentails, etc. Sometimes i just want to drive home and stay there, but then realize i'm unable to because i don't have a car here.

I miss how things use to be, i miss my friends, i miss the memories, the good ol' times, summer, the free life.

Well i think it's time for a worthy update about what has been going on in the past month or so. I went to Chicago in June with Art Club, that was fun. I got girl friend. She is sweet, honest, and great. I finally got a job as a waiter at Addison Oaks Banquet Hall. I'm working with Tim Allen and Abby (my g/f). Waitering is hard work but its fun working with cool people.

4-H fair was fun this year, eventful like usual. Hung out with my cousin Mike most of the time. I finally gave Emily her Birthday present. I'm glad she liked it, it took a while to put together but it was worth the wait. I meet some horse girls that arn't stuck up snobs, hung out with them a little bit. I must say the highlight of fair was going off roading in Mike's Truck and getting it stuck. Then had a police helicopter fly over top of us for about an hour until we were towed out with a friends Cherokee. Fair was great this year.

Last night i went to my first concert ever- the 3 Doors Down Concert with Staind, Breaking Benjamin, and No Address. I had so much fun. 3DD was amazing. They sang all their hits and Bob Seger did a surprise appearance for one of the songs (Landing in London). This had to be the best first concert ever. Well that's pretty much it for now. I had the best time at prom on Friday. I picked up Tim and Emily, which i must add looked beautiful, then went over to Jay's where our group met up and headed off to Prom in our limo. Dinner was alright, music was good, dancing was crazy, and the pics were hilarious. After prom was interesting. I'll leave it at that. I'll try to post pics later.

Hey everyone, i haven't had a true update in a while, mostly because i've had nothing important or eager to say, but isn't LJ for pointless rambling anyway?
This week i started the planting process on the farm which includes: picking up stumps, cut branches, and garbage left in the field by customers, as well as drilling holes. Its not fun, but it's work and it pays well. Tomorrow i'm traveling over to my other farm to prepare the land and drill more holes there for tree planting purposes. I'm sure i had some other things to write about but i can't remember them at the moment.

Monday night i saw Sin City with some friends. It is a must see movie.

Last weekend Tim and I hung out with Em and Amanda. For the most part it was great... the pointless driving, gusher cravings, and my car dieing. what fun.

The significance
The concept of my concentration is natural objects. Nature and its beauty are expressed through the various pieces within my portfolio. The intent is to capture the uniqueness of individual items and convey them in a tasteful and attractive manner. Each object is made up of elements, such as texture and color, which causes them to be intriguing. I try to capture these organic formations by creating them on paper or canvas form, while incorporating my own style. This idea of Natural beauty interests me in the fact that I have constantly been surrounded by country landscapes while growing up on a Christmas tree farm.
